The Weaverville Farms Story

Weaverville Farms is owned and operated by Jared Weaver, a local Health/PE teacher, farmer and Aussie enthusiast. Jared grew up around his Grandma Thelma, AKA “Grambo,” who developed Love Link Havanese, one of the most successful Havanese Kennels in the entire Pacific Northwest. One of Jared’s fondest childhood memories is going to his Grandma’s farm to visit the puppies and play outside. More than 25 years later Jared puts the same time, care and energy into breeding as Thelma did so many years ago. Unfortunately Grambo has since passed, but her legacy continues on.

Jared and his wife Heather always loved being in the forest and after saving their money, built a house deep in the hills of Scappoose to help nurture the same love of the great outdoors with their daughters Ava and Isabella. After several years of working the land and converting the old horse barn into indoor/outdoor dog-kennels, Jared finally had the opportunity to do something he had always dreamed of: breeding and showing Australian Shepherds.

The Weaver are now all about Aussies and when they aren’t working the farm they’re putting time competing in the UpDog Disc-Dog Games, or showing the dogs in Obedience, Rally, and Conformation for the AKC. Although farmers at heart, going into the show world has been a great way to further the bond with their animals and allows them to meet and connect with new people in the dog community.

As time went on, Jared wanted to add livestock to the farm to produce organic meat and to provide the dogs with jobs around the farm. He started by adding New Zealand Rabbits and is now a major provider of live meat-rabbits for the PNW region and a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA). After raising several breeds of sheep, Jared and Heather fell in love with Painted Desert Sheep (PDS) and Weaverville Farms is now a member of the Painted Desert Sheep Society and produces high quality, super colorful, registered PDS lambs. The Aussies are invaluable at herding and keeping the sheep, always keeping a protective eye on the children and intervening to protect people from unfriendly rams with massive horns.

In 2025 Jared founded Columbia County Disc Dog Club (CCDDC), a public benefit non-profit to promote dog sports in Columbia County, OR. CCDDC has partnered with Columbia County Sports to provide a welcoming space for dog enthusiasts to come together. This new adventure was designed to help give the dogs more dedicated training time and also to serve as a way to give back to the community that have been so supportive of Weaverville Farms along their journey.

Weaverville Farms is solely dedicated to breeding the absolute best Australian Shepherds and providing the most robust genetics, healthiest nutritional diets, and happiest living environments possible. Everything done at Weaverville Farms is to strive toward creating the best working, companion, and show-quality Aussies available. While several other animal species are being raised at Weaverville Farms, these are all done in order to provide our dogs with the best social-training environment possible and to give them jobs to perform related to herding, nurturing, and guarding. We put everything we have into these puppies so we can provide you with the best possible companion!

Thanks for choosing Weaverville Farms, we hope you love your new puppy.
